About
Corey Maher acquired his first computer at auction when he was 10 years old. It had two 5.25″ floppy drives, one for the OS disk, and one for the program disk. Four years later, he delivered his first pitch and was awarded his first website contract. Two years after that, he began work at an ISP where he dealt primarily in modem connect strings, HTML advice, and Dial Up Networking settings.
Since then, he’s worked in a variety of corporate IT positions and technology projects. He currently lives and works in New York City, and is focused on telecommunications, contact center technology, VoIP, and Ruby on Rails.
Corey attends classes at the New School in Greenwich Village, where he studies Democracy and Cultural Pluralism, a subject of personal interest. Corey is interested in the intersection of technology and politics, as well as privacy and the free exchange of information.
